Diagnosis

Severe respiratory distress with open-mouth breathing and panting after air travel from China to Thailand. Chest X-rays and blood work revealed pleural effusion and elevated ProBNP, raising suspicion of heart disease. Echocardiography later confirmed hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).

Treatment Plan

Immediate oxygen cage stabilization, chest X-rays, blood tests including ProBNP, hospitalization, echocardiographic evaluation, and ongoing medical management for HCM.

Result

Xinba stabilized during hospitalization, responded well to treatment, and was discharged after 5 days. He continues regular follow-up care at Happy Pet Hospital with good vital signs.
